Bicentennial Celebration Success

What a wonderful culmination of our bicentennial year! We had a fantastic time celebrating with each of you! We had approximately:

  • 145 people for the clergy & senior warden lunch
  • 550 people for the convention business session
  • 700 people plus 100+ choir members for the convention Eucharist
  • 500 people for the banquet
  • 150 people for the youth & young adult conversation with the PB
  • 600 people for the Bellwether Eucharist & dedication

The weekend could not have been such a success without the countless number of people who volunteered and assisted in a variety of ways. Thank you to each and every one of you! We are also grateful for our special guests that arranged their schedules to partake in our festivities: the Most Rev. Michael B. Curry; the Rt. Rev. & Mrs. J. Clark Grew, II; the Rev. Gay Jennings; the Hon. Byron Rushing; the Rt. Rev. & Mrs. Philip Wright; and the Rt. Rev. Maimbo Mndolwa.

We were humbled to have the Presiding Bishop preach at Eucharist on Saturday and Sunday. His sermons are now available to view online:

You can also view and download the #whatsyour200 video which showcases some of the many "200" activities our parishes were able to achieve this past year with the help of their Bicentennial Missioners. Photos are coming soon! They will be available on our website and social media pages as soon as we have them in hand. The Bishop's Convention Address will be printed in Church Life and is also available online.

Thank you for all that you have done! We looking forward to many more years ahead as we commit to a new century serving God's mission.
