OBERLIN — In the dim light of Christ Episcopal Church, the newly installed rose window funnels in the daylight through its colors and designs.
The window is a replacement for a beloved rose window that lasted more than 60 years. The new window was installed over Easter weekend to the surprise of churchgoers Sunday.
The original rose window deteriorated after about 64 years of taking in sunlight in the entrance of the church. The paint had faded or flaked off. The Rev. Brian Wilbert said the plan to replace it already was in motion by 2015.
