A sewing club based in Lake County is stitching together kind deeds in the form of blankets and more for the benefit of patients at Cleveland Clinic.
The group’s mission was inspired by the actions of a parishioner of St. Hubert’s Episcopal Church in Kirtland Hills. The man had received a heart transplant at the clinic and began paying back kindnesses received there by making and donating blankets.
Others at the church joined his cause and helped to expand the goodwill enterprise as well as the inventory of items that now includes quilts, pajamas, aprons and sewn bags filled with gifts.
