The entire congregation gets involved in the Pierogis and Pork Dinner being staged at Painesville’s St. James Episcopal Church this weekend. It takes place from 4 to 8 p.m. Oct. 20.
“Everybody’s involved,” says member Alice Griffith. “The kids work as bussers and the teens as servers.”
She’s among the seven on the pierogi team who meet once a week beginning in summer to make and freeze pierogis for the meal. Started as a perch and pierogi dinner, it’s taken place for seven years as a church fundraiser.
